Tasweer Mahal

The over 120-year-old Odeon Cinema along with a Library and the Shah Baloot Park belong to Lansdowne Trust founded by two Sikh brothers — Sardar Kirpal Singh Rai Bahadur and Sardar Sujan Singh Rai Bahadur — who developed the facilities for education and recreation of the cantonment residents. The cinema was constructed in 1891.

In 1897, it was transferred to the then Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Committee and since then RCB has been looking after its affairs and paying an annual rent to the trust.
